The UN's International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ordered the US to lift restrictive measures against Iran linked to humanitarian trade, food, medicine and civil aviation. Iran had complained to the ICJ that the return to sanctions by the Trump administration following the withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear agreement was a violation of the Treaty of Amity. US Secretary of State Pompeo announced that the US would terminate the Treaty of Amity and indicated that the US will ignore the ruling.
